Terms of Use

Website terms of use.

These terms apply to your use of pontineinc.com. The site is owned and operated by Pontine, Inc. ("Pontine," "we," "us"). By using the site, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the site.

No medical advice

The information on this site describes anesthesia and our services in general terms. It is not medical advice, and it does not replace a conversation with your physician. Using the site or contacting us through it does not create a physician-patient relationship. That relationship begins when one of our anesthesiologists evaluates you for a scheduled procedure.

If you have a medical emergency, call 911.

Keep health information out of web forms

Our website forms and email are not secure channels for health information. Please do not include medical details, insurance ID numbers, or other sensitive information in a form or email. To discuss your care, call us at 510-225-9090. For billing, call 510-225-9090 ext. 1.

Insurance and billing information

Our Billing & Insurance page explains how anesthesia billing works and lists plans we work with. This information is general. It does not guarantee coverage, network status, or what you will owe. Your plan decides what it covers, so please confirm your coverage with your insurer and our billing department before your procedure.

Accuracy of information

We work to keep this site accurate and current. It may still contain errors or outdated information, and we may change it at any time without notice. If you find something incorrect, please email [email protected] and tell us which page it is on.

Intellectual property

Pontine or its licensors own the content on this site, including its text, photos, graphics, and our name and logo. You may view and print pages for your own personal, noncommercial use, and you may quote the site with attribution. Any other copying, distribution, or commercial use requires our written permission.

Acceptable use

Use this site only for lawful purposes. You agree not to:

  • upload, send, or link to malicious software;
  • try to gain unauthorized access to the site or the systems behind it, including our password-protected scheduling pages;
  • submit false information, or another person's information without their permission, through our forms;
  • interfere with the site's operation, or use automated tools in a way that burdens it.

Search engines and AI assistants that follow our robots.txt file are welcome to index the site.

Forms, scheduling, and communications

When you submit a form or book a meeting, you agree that we may contact you by email or phone about your request. You also agree that notices and other messages we send electronically meet any requirement that they be in writing. Our Privacy notice explains how we handle what you submit.

Ideas and proposals

Please do not send us confidential business ideas or proposals through the site. Anything you send without a signed agreement with us is not confidential, and we may use it without any obligation to you.

Third-party sites and services

The site links to sites and services run by others, such as our scheduling pages hosted by HubSpot, our LinkedIn page, and government resources like cms.gov. Their own terms and privacy policies apply. We do not control them and are not responsible for their content or practices.

Accessibility

We want this site to work for everyone, including people who use assistive technology. If any part of it is hard to use, email [email protected] or call 510-225-9090 and tell us the page and the problem. We will work to fix it or get you the information another way.

Disclaimer of warranties

The site is provided "as is" and "as available." To the fullest extent the law allows, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not promise that the site will be uninterrupted, secure, or free of errors or harmful components.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, Pontine and its physicians, staff, and service providers are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages that arise from your use of the site or your inability to use it. This includes losses caused by internet outages or delays, or by a third party's unauthorized access to our systems. This section covers your use of the website only. It does not limit any responsibility we have for the medical care we provide.

Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold Pontine harmless from claims, losses, and costs, including reasonable attorneys' fees, that arise from your violation of these terms or your misuse of the site.

Changes to the site and these terms

We may change, suspend, or discontinue any part of the site at any time. We may also update these terms. The date at the bottom of this page shows the current version. Changes take effect when they are posted, and your continued use of the site means you accept them.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to its conflict of law rules. Any dispute about the site or these terms will be heard in the state or federal courts located in Contra Costa County, California.

General

If a court finds any part of these terms unenforceable, the rest remains in effect. If we do not enforce a provision, we have not waived it. You may not transfer your rights under these terms without our written consent. These terms and our Privacy notice are the entire agreement between you and Pontine about your use of the site. If you have a separate written agreement with us, such as a coverage agreement for your facility, that agreement controls where it conflicts with these terms.
